Company History

TDR have been on the top of their game since 2001 - here's a brief history of events to date...

CD Repairman Badge

2001

Total Disc Repair (TDR) was formed as Europe's first specialist disc repair company and quickly became Europe's largest CD repair lab with 50 staff and 24/7 operation.

TDR granted European Master distribution rights for CD Repairman products and soon established a network of specialist distributors throughout all of Europe.

StarDisc

2002

Responding to consumer demand, TDR started researching different methods of disc repair. This ranged from diamond turning lathes to ultrasonic cleaning but the great breakthrough was the development of the world’s first single stage repair technology using liquid abrasives.

The new single stage produced high quality, absolutely consistent results that required no skill or training. TDR then develops the Stardisc industrial range of single stage machines that repair 5 discs at a time for use in disc repair labs.

Discus Machine

2003

Following on from the Stardisc, TDR develops the TDR Discus, the world’s first single stage desktop disc repair machine.

Although disc repair technology has moved on, there are still several of these machines fully operational today in the UK because the finish they produce is still excellent by anyone's standards.

Some of the Machine Range

2004

TDR develops its range further by adding products from leading disc repair machine manufacturers, Suoya, Venmill, and Disc-Go-Tech.

Some of these machines have become top sellers in Europe making TDR the top disc repair supplier.

2006-9

Disc repair becomes increasingly mainstream with multinationals such as Asda, Game, Gamestation, Blockbuster, HMV and Lovefilm using disc repair to great effect. In addition, an increasingly diverse range of industries become involved such as libraries, police forensic labs, national charities, pawnbrokers, e-bay traders, universities, and so on.

2010-Today

We still think that it would be great if more people knew about disc repair so that fewer discs ended up going needlessly to landfill. We are working hard to raise awareness of disc repair. As the supermarkets move into offering this we hope that it becomes common knowledge that any scratched disc can be repaired.

Our range of machines allows us to match the right machine to each customer’s particular needs and then to respond easily to any changes in that customer’s situation. We work hard to advise each customer carefully and our customers often tell us that it’s something they’ve found really reassuring.

All disc formats can be repaired
